It’s long been rumored inApex Legendscircles that the next playable character to be added to the game is called Ballistic, and a recent leak over at an Apex subreddit showed off some previously unseen models that display the character as clearly as we’ve ever seen him. Though this supposed leak could always be fabricated,Insider Gamingstates they were “able to verify that the images leaked online are legitimate.”

Ballistic LEaks

Theleak, as seen below, displays different Ballistic models, and it would appear as though all of them are additional skins for the character, none of them being his standard outfit. They all vary from a previousleakfrom a couple of months ago that showed him in a more strappy/industrial outfit that better matches Apex Legends' usual art design.

From left to right these skins appear to be a more traditional military warlord look, a Miami Vice pink-shaded outfit strapped in gold, and a sort of debonair gentleman’s outfit. It’s clear that, at the time of this leak, the military outfit had yet to be colored in. All of these skins' themes match what’s been rumored to be the character’s backstory, that he’s an arms dealer with some sort of direct connection to the Apex Games.

His previously leaked abilities also match his backstory quite well. Reportedly, his passive allows him to carry a third weapon sans attachments, his tactical lets him shoot a bullet that, when lands on an enemy, causes their guns to overheat when shooting. If the gun reaches a certain degree of heat, the enemy takes damage.

Finally, his ultimate gives his allies and himself faster reloads, faster movement speed, and unlimited reloadable ammo. Furthermore, his third weapon gets upgraded to Gold.

It’s currently unclear when Ballistic will release, but most assume that it’s Season 17, which makes sense given how much info is coming out about him already. Season 16, titled Revelry, which launched only two weeks ago, didn’t include a new Legend, which was unusual given the game’s track record. However, it didn’t seem to affect engagement as, following the season’s launch, Apex Legends actuallybrokeits concurrent players record onSteam.
