After his exit from the MCU, many people were skeptical of Robert Downey Jr.’s ability to recreate the success he achieved being Iron Man for Marvel Studios for more than a decade. And proving their doubts wrong, the star not only maintained his image but also received an Oscar nomination for his role inOppenheimer.

Along with his accolades, the star was not shy of praising other stars who did wonders for the film industry last year, including Margot Robbie, for her role inBarbie. In a recent interview, he revealed how Robbie’s performance was impactful in its own way, and yet, some people aren’t convinced of the film’s and actress’ success with the audience.
Robert Downey Jr. Calls Margot Robbie’s Performance InBarbieQuite Underappreciated
Despite being the competing titles at the box office released on the same day in cinemas, the culmination ofBarbieandOppenheimerinto a worldwide phenomenon known as Barbenheimer was the best thing that ever happened in cinema in a long while.
Not only did it help stack up box office collections for both films, but it also incentivized the audience to experience the sheer exceptional performances that the cast of both movies managed to deliver.

In fact, despiteRobert Downey Jr.receiving his third Academy Award nomination for his role as Lewis Strauss in the Christopher Nolan directorial, he was conscious of the contributions ofMargot Robbieplaying the role of the titular character in the Greta Gerwig-directed film. He even went on to detail how he thinks that her performance in the film was underappreciated.
In a recent video by theSAG-AFTRA Foundation, we saw theIron Manstar along with his fellow SAG Award nomineesSterling K. Brownand Willem Dafoe talking about films that came out in the past year, where he revealed how underratedThe Suicide Squadactress’ performance was, saying:

“It never fails to impress and remind me how little you need to do to be effective, Just the simplest version of expression, that’s what the camera wants. The closer the camera gets, the more it wants it. Time and time again, it’s demonstrated that it’s super effective.Margot Robbieis not getting enough credit, in my opinion,”
And yet, while other stars agreed with his opinion, people on the internet still are convinced that she’s only being put on a pedestal becauseBarbiewas overrated by the audience.

What Do The Fans Have To Say About This?
Not everyone will agree with every single popular opinion that spawns with the performance of an actor or the film, and attesting this fact, there are several on the internet who feel that Robbie long overstayed her welcome in praises of the audience.
All she did was cry the whole time.
