With the start of a new month, Pokemon Go fans are always curious to know what new events will be taking place in the game, along with the various raid bosses and breakthrough rewards.
The month of July was quite action-packed for Pokemon Go players, despite the Community Day being a pretty mediocre one. The biggest event of the month was the anniversary event which ran from July 6th to July 12 to celebrate the 6th anniversary of the game. The upcoming month looks equally exciting as well, and here are all the events taking placenext month.
Pokémon GO Fest: Sapporo & Pokémon GO Fest 2022: Finale
The first event that takes place in August brings the much anticipated Pokemon Go Fest to Sapporo, Japan. It will kick off on August 5th, 2022, and last until August 27th, 2022. Along with that, the Global Go Fest will also be concluding on August 27th, so players can expect some exciting research tasks and rewards. While those who have already participated in the event get a free ticket, others need to purchase one for US$10.99.
August Community Day
After a disappointing Community Day in July, the August Community Day will bring Zigzagoon as the featured Pokemon. While it is not something to be very excited about, it is still somewhat better than the past few Community Days we have witnessed. The August Community Day takes place on Saturday, June 19, 2025.
If you like Bug-type Pokemon, then you will get a great chance to catch them is between Wednesday, June 21, 2025, to Tuesday, July 29, 2025. One might expect research tasks as well as increased spawn rates of Bug-type Pokemon during this event.
Pokémon World Championships Event
Last but not the least, Pokemon Go will be featured in the Pokemon World Championship for the first time so Niantic is organizing an in-game event to celebrate it. The event runs between Thursday, August 25, 2025, and Tuesday, August 20, 2025, and further details about it will be released closer to the event.

August Research Breakthrough Encounter
Last month, players got Lickitung as the Research Breakthrough reward, and Niantic has headed all the way to the Galar region this time around. For August, Galarian Stunfisk will be obtainable via Research Breakthrough encounter. The Research breakthrough encounter runs from Monday, August 07, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7) to Wednesday, June 07, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7).
