One of the more intriguing characters inAlan Wake 2is Tim Breaker, who, after being whisked away by the Dark Presence at the start of Saga’s story, can be found in various locations during Alan Wake’s sections of the game. He’s typically holed up in a room somewhere near a Break Room with a whiteboard and a map of the surrounding area.

Interacting with his map is the main reason you want to find Tim Breaker, as doing so will reveal the locations of nearby points of interest and things you might have missed otherwise. Other than investing in theWord of Stuff: Tourist Map,this is the only way for Alan to have areas of interest pointed out to him in the game.

Where To Find Tim Breaker
Tim can often be found by the sound of his humming. Once you are near his location, you’ll hear him humming an indistinct tune. If you have subtitles enabled, this will be immediately obvious. Following the sound of the humming will always lead you to his hideout. However, Tim isn’t always at the main thoroughway and is sometimes holed up in optional sections of the map. Initiation 2 - Casey
When you’re looking for a light tounlock the Caldera Subway Station’s underground area, you’ll need to head up to the rooftop using the staircase directly to the right of the subway entrance. Eventually, you’ll come across aBreak Room on the rooftop. After the Break Room, a path extends to the right, and another goesstraight ahead with another staircase. Take the second path, and you’ll hear humming. Tim’s room is at the next landing.
Caldera Subway Station
After entering the Caldera Subway Station and passing through the Collapsed Tunnel Scene, you’ll find yourself at a train track. Keep following the main path until you find yourself near aflooded terminal before obtaining the Summoning Ritualplot point. Keep an ear open for Tim’s humming; his room is nearby.
Initiation 5 - Room 665
As you’re looking for a way inside the Oceanview Hotel, you’ll need to find a way to theSkybridge using the Mirror Peak Bar’s neon signsas a reference. Eventually, you’ll reach a Break Room at one of the rooftops. Instead of taking the ladder to the right and heading further up, take thestaircase to the left of the Break Room. This path will lead you toward Tim Breaker.
Oceanview Hotel
Afterentering the Oceanview Hotel, you’ll need to head to the second floor using Room 104.Tim is inside Room 209on the second floor, but you’ll need thekey from the desk in Room 206to unlock it.
Initiation 8 - Zane’s Film
Poet’s Cinema
Head to theRooftop of the Cinemaand look for the large structure behind a locked door. Circle around this area until you see a small staircase leading down toa shaft that serves as a shortcutto enter the area. Tim is just inside.
