The traditional battle pass system is fun to play but it also takes everything it offers as it ends. Rocksteady Games, creator ofBatman: Arkhamseries, is among the few video game companies challenging this approach withSuicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. The game was given early access on August 02, 2025, for the ones who pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice Leaguewill follow a storyline where the Justice League has gone rogue after being brainwashed by supervillain Brainiac, voiced by Jason Isaacs. The team, assembled by A.R.G.U.S director Amanda Waller (Debra Wilson), is comprised of Harley Quinn (Tara Strong), King Shark (Samoa Joe), Captain Boomerang (Daniel Lapaine), and Deadshot (Bumper Robinson).
Revisiting The Suicide Squad Storylines Would be Fun
As far as the battle pass is concerned, Rocksteady Games is keen on allowing players to experience it entirely and not just in pieces. Players can revisit the battle pass experience despite the launch of a new season. Studio director Darius Sadegian said they are “happy to announce that you will be able to go back and play previous battle passes after a season ends.”

The cosmetic-only battle pass is designed to deliver in-game items to customize characters and will not affect the gameplay in any way, the game’s official websiteexplainsin frequently asked questions (FAQs). Moreover, it also includes premium tiers which players can acquire through optional in-game game purchases.
Following the early access release for Deluxe Edition owners, developers had to pay them $20 as LuthorCoins,Suicide Squad‘s in-game currency. Rocksteady Games had to pull it offline after discovering a bug that completed the game upon a player’s login. Following many delays, players are finally getting the game with a global launch today via Steam.

While the game is initially perceived as visually stunning, it also garnered some negative reviews calling it out for falling short in aspects including combat and encounter design. Some fans who witnessed a scene involving Batman featuring the posthumous voice of American Actor Kevin Conroy were not happy about it. A user on X namely Bit Cloud Gaming said that a Batman Beyond game would be better for the actor’s final performance, although it has now come to the light he has several more performances to come.
It Doesn’t Feel Like Arkham’s Cousin
At the outset, Sadeghian emphasizes the fact that the game is“still full of the DNA that infuses the Batman: Arkham series.”However, not everyone agrees with that and it highlights the fact that Rocksteady Games falls short of matching the level of their iconic series. Still, it is to be seen how the fans will receive the game after the global rollout.
The game’s first downloadable content (DLC) is likely to come out in March 2024accordingtoSuicide SquadInsider. Details on the seasons that will follow are unclear as of now. However, it may follow the traditional structure similar to the one that games likeFortniteuse, which would be a 10-week run. Given this, season 2 might get a release around May 2024.

Moreover, season 1 will also feature the Joker from one of the Elseworlds, a publication imprint by DC Comics for stories happening outside DC Universe (DCU), something fans were initially confused by with the infamous death of Mark Hamill’s version inArkham City.
