The idea is that the player is going to explore the world and scavenge as much as he can, and through these scavenged items he can craft his own weapons and build his own equipment. We call it the ‘Guerrilla Toolkit’ and these are all things that the player can take to the fight against the KPA.
It’s not just scavenging for weapons; the game even emphasizes resource allocation. Since they’re quite limited in the in-game world, the weapons gamers chose affected their entire experience as they had to pick what they wanted to use and save.
It’s clear that Dambuster Studios was inspired by Ubisoft’sFar Cry 2while developing these gameplay aspects for its FPS title. The entire concept of going out and scavenging for weapons was laid down byFar Cry2,where gamers had to deal with weapon degradation, scarcity, and adaptability.
