“An abundance of Eevee” is coming toPokémonfans this year, or so decreesthis poston Pokémon’s official website.
While we lack a firm idea of what the “year of the Eevee” entails, we do know a few things in the short term - and can make some fairly educated guesses about the long term.
First, we start with what is known. Pokémon’s main merch store, the Pokémon Center, is really looking to push products of Eevee and its many evolutions. “Detailed figures” are on the menu here, and we already have a picture of the one for Jolteon.
Beyond that, Eevee fans can expect to see Pop! Vinyls, kitchen designs, and keychains.
We’ve also got some returning products - namely, plush dolls - going back in stock. Some fans have complained that certain eeveelutions were much harder to find plushes of, and hopefully, this new product wave should help fix that.

There aren’t many snake-like Pokemon, but the ones we do have like Serperior and Steelix have their undeniable places in our parties.
But the Eevee love may not be contained to the Pokémon Center. AsIGNpointed out, the Pokémon Trading Card Game has already tipped its hand, putting a ton of Eevee love into the latest set: Prismatic Evolution.
While as-of-yet unreleased, we do know the contents of this set will feature new cards for the various Eeveelutions, including an Umbreon that’s expected to fetch a high price with collectors.

The last time we saw Kalos, we got a new eeveelution: Sylveon. That was also the last time Eevee got a new evolution - we’ve since gone three straight generations without a new magical cat-dog to buy marketable plushies of. A new record!

Many speculate that Eevee will never receive any new evolutions. All the existing ones we’ve seen have been for “special” types - or at least, ones deemed “special” by the damage calculation system of generations 1-3. And we’ve officially run out of types like that.
The fairy type, Sylveon’s type, was introduced in generation 6 - long after the physical-special overhaul of generation 4. But given the magic behind fey folk, it’s hard to imagine a gen 1-3 version of the type being “physical” over “special”.
But given a marketing push like this, one that’s already left the walls of the Pokémon Center and hit the TCG… if we were ever going to see a new eeveelution, 2025 seems like the year it’d happen. It’s now or never.
