Soulslikegames often have amazing base campaigns, which is something that I love about them. They pull you into the story and give you a rewarding goal to work towards. Often, what’s here is enough to keep players happy, but we’ll also never turn down a good DLC pack, either.
Unfortunately, good DLCs in Soulslikes are few and far between, in my opinion. Not many indie titles in the genre are able to invest in massive expansions. Instead, these games typically get smaller DLCs, yet the ones thatdoget larger DLCs are often praised for the work the devs put into the game.

10 Best Soulslikes Currently On PS Plus
If you want punishing gameplay, but don’t want to pay for a game outright, these are great options for Playstation fans.
I wanted to explore Souslike DLCs and their impact on the game, specifically in terms of build variety, content such as side quests, and enemy diversity. These are the ten I think best capture the base game while also introducing worthwhile, incredible additions to the formula.

10Steelrising: Cagliostro’s Secrets
Another Puppet
Steelrising
Before there was Lies of P, there was Aegis from Steelrising holding it down as resident Soulslike puppet. Similar to Lies of P yet again, this title came with one DLC, though it was released much quicker than Pinocchio’s Overture DLC.
Digression aside, Cagliostro’s Secrets added a new location, Hospital Saint-Louis, along with new enemies, weapons, side quests, and a new story that focused on the King’s agent, the Comte de Cagliostro.

Additionally, it provided everyone with a reason to replay the game, as the team introduced a New Game Plus mode featuring new weapons and armor. Now, if you want to collect everything, you need to play through the game multiple times, sort of like Dark Souls.
9Ashen: Nightstorm Isle
Perseverance Personified
Similar to others on the list,Ashenonly ever received one DLC. This DLC takes you across the sea to Nightstorm Isle for a tale of perseverance and hope.
Nightstorm Isle is a treacherous place with difficult obstacles and tough foes that you must overcome. The new locations and cave systems feature some great platforming, hidden weapons and armor, and new bosses, but the main reason to play is the lore.

You follow a story about a mother searching for her daughter across a volcanic isle. The story gets pretty treacherous, but at least you canplay this DLC with a friend via Co-op, unlike many Soulslike games.
8Code Vein: Lord Of Thunder
Fextralife Wiki
There were three DLCs created forCode Vein, with Lord of Thunder often being referred to as the best. Each of the DLCs added new weapons, Blood Codes, quests, a location, Blood Veils, and more.
I side with those who say this one is the best of the DLCs, because I love the boss that was added to this one. The Lord of Thunder is a crazy fight that is quite difficult, but one that you can get used to and master if you study its attacks.

10 Best Soulslike Genre Hybrids You Need To Play
Why just play a Souls game when you could play a soulslike with a little something extra?
Along with the boss, I am a big fan of the new location and the weapons that were added with the DLC. The Fulmen Blade will forever be one of my favorites in terms of design and usage.
7Nioh: Dragon Of The North
Best Of The Three
It goes without saying that many considerNiohto be one of the best Soulslike games made to date, and the DLC helped with that. The base game is good already, but the game received three great DLCs, with each standing out fairly well.
The first DLC, Dragon of the North, is my favorite of the three, thanks to the fun bosses, new missions, and new locations. Speaking of locations, this DLC opened up the Tohoku Region, which includes four locations, each being just as good as the last and adding a ton of new content.
Aoba Castle is an especially nice area and one that fans of the base game will certainly love.
6Hellpoint: Blue Sun
Hellpointis one of those Soulslikes that isn’t necessarily amazing, but it does the job and can be respected, thanks to the obvious dedication the team put into creating the game. After all, there are tons of weapons, a massive map, and pretty awesome bosses with unique mechanics in the base game, and the DLC made the experience even better.
How was it made better? So glad you asked. The team added three rather large areas to the game: Gehenna Prison, Dominion Baths, and The Core. This added a lot more to explore with hidden paths, new enemies, and new weapons.
Many of the weapons found in the DLC are game-changers and will help you further your build potential. On top of this, I should mention the four new bosses that each get wilder as you progress. Fear is by far the strangest boss in the game now.
5Hollow Knight: The Grimm Troupe
Or Maybe Godmaster?
Hollow Knight
Hollow Knightis an amazing Soulslike game that many have been waiting for ages for a sequel to. If you are one of the many waiting for Silksong, you can instead try out the multiple DLCs that the game received, with the best one arguably being The Grimm Troupe.
There is a debate over whether The Grimm Troupe or Godmaster is the best DLC for Hollow Knight, but with multiple characters that have great personalities, a new questline, andmultiple bosses,I think The Grimm Troupe comes out on top.
As for the NPCs, they are all themed after traveling performers, and the locations are all very pretty and over-the-top, as circus performers typically are. It makes for a fun, grand adventure if you have the time to get through it.
4Bloodborne: The Old Hunters
Orphan Of Kos Is Insane
Bloodborne
FromSoftware is amazing at creating DLC for its games, andBloodbornehad one of the best DLCs with The Old Hunters. This DLC added multiple new locations, with some of them being better than the base game, such as the Research Hall and Fishing Hamlet.
This DLC follows the trend of Soulsborne DLCs, where they get much more difficult than the base game. Those who delve into this expansion are met with very tough hunter enemies, beasts, and even more cosmic horrors. Of course, there are also more weapons, armors, and consumables to use, with my favorite being the long-awaited Moonlight Greatsword that appears in every From Software title.
10 Hardest Soulsborne DLC Bosses, Ranked
FromSoftware only knows how to cause true pain through its expansions.
The Old Hunters DLC also added my least favorite boss of all time, and perhaps the most difficult in all of Bloodborne—Orphan of Kos.This boss has taken me down more times than I care to admit. Still, regardless of your feelings about this boss, there’s no denying how memorable it is.
3Remnant: From The Ashes: Subject 2923
New Locales To Aim At
Remnant: From the Ashes
Remnant: From the Ashesis one of those games that has a ton of replayability thanks to themultitude of buildsyou can create and the fact that the world changes each time you play through it. The same can be said about the Subject 2923 DLC.
This DLC added a bunch of locations to the Earth biome that made it even more diverse, and also added the mountain world of Reisum. Along with this, it added additional bosses and a new campaign mode to spice things up even more. Keep in mind, the areas change with each playthrough, so you never know how they will look.
On top of this, the hardcore mode that was added with the DLC will give you a run for your money as you search for the new weapons and armor.
2Lies Of P: Overture
Not Gonna Lie, It’s Great
Lies of P: Overture
We waited one year, eight months, and 19 days forLies of Pto finally get the DLC that it rightfully deserved. After being blessed with this amazing indie Soulslike, we were left with nothing but challenge runs to hold us over.
Finally, the Overture DLC has arrived, and it is everything everyone wanted: more Lies of P. The DLC is tougher than the base game without a doubt, but it feels extremely rewarding when you finally defeat one of the many difficult bosses.
This DLC brought in multiple NPCs with unique questlines, and various new locations with new enemies and additional items, such as weapons, costumes, defensive parts, and more. On top of this, there are additional rewards for those who play on New Game Plus mode, making it far more satisfying to replay the game on higher difficulties.
1Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree
Hard To Compete With
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree
WithElden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC taking an additional 30-ish hours to complete, it is more than worth the price of admission, especially since you will be playing for much longer than that if you want to complete everything.
The DLC added a massive new region called Scadu Plateau that came with an additional 42 bosses, 103 new weapons, a ton of armor sets, and many new enemy varieties. Plus, the map region is so big that you can easily mistake it for multiple regions. The dungeons/catacombs are bigger, and the Abyssal Woods are incredibly unique.
Everyone who said that Shadow of the Erdtree deserved game of the year was right. It never gets old, and was a worthy way to cap-off one of the best video games of all time.
