Benedictions are powerful tools inWuchang: Fallen Feathersthat enhance our character’s abilities in a similar way to Pendants. They are applied directly to the weapons you are using via the Shrine menu and act as a means of bringing your build full circle.

PS Plus Soulslikes

Of course, with so many in the game, it is easy to get lost and not know which ones to use, so let’s break down which of arethe best Benedictions in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.

10Oath: Shi - Rising Defense

It’s Not Lowering

While below a certain health threshold, you gain increased defense against Slashing, Blunt and Stab attacks.

Set Effect

No set effect.

Shi - Rising Defense is one of the Oath Benedictions that has the ability to increase your defense against physical attacks when your health is low. Imagine you are caught in a fight against multiple foes that are consistently whittling down your health.

When you are stuck in a situation where you need to get a break and heal, this Benediction grants you a little bit of leeway by increasing your defenses.

Oath: Shi - Rising Defense has been safeguarding me throughout the campaign by keeping me at the minimum health requirement to not die.

9Memory: Sheng - Lasting Alacrity

Magic Damage Avoidance

Extends the duration of damage avoidance when triggering Alacrity.

This Benediction is for those who want to use spells during their playthrough. When casting a spell, Alacrity is the buff that allows you to avoid damage mid-cast when an enemy is bearing down on you.

The Lasting Alacrity Benediction extends the duration of damage avoidance when triggering the Alacrity effect, granting you a larger window of damage avoidance so that you’re able to get your spells off without getting killed.

This is a must for anyone using a magic build during their playthrough and has saved my life countless times. I cannot praise this Benediction enough.

8Memory: Sheng - Lethal Might

Defeat Enemies, Become Stronger

Defeating an enemy increases your damage for a time and grants Skyborn Might.

There are times when I struggled to getSkyborn Might, and the Lethal Might Benediction helped to remedy that. I get plenty of Skyborn Might when using my one-handed swords, but I lack it when using dual swords.

10 Best Soulslikes With Short Runtimes

All the difficulty, less of the time commitment

This is why I used the Lethal Might Benediction on my dual blades. It allows you to get Skyborn Might each time you defeat an enemy, adding to the bonuses that are already on your weapon from your skills.

Short Runtime Soulslikes

On top of this, the Lethal Might Benediction increases your damage for a short period, which is perfect when dealing with multiple foes.

7Wisdom: Wei - Skyborn Magic

More Magic Power

Skyborn Might increases your spell damage for a time.

I won’t deny that I favor Benedictions that enhance my magic, since I spent most of the gameusing a magic build. With that being said, if you like magic as much as I do, you will want to use the Skyborn Magic Benediction.

This Benediction increases your spell damage each time you get Skyborn Might. If you combine this with the Biding Time skill - one of the best starting skills - you will get a fairly consistent damage buff, especially toward the end of the game.

I credit this Benediction for allowing me to deal tons of damage to enemies quickly during fights, and think it might be a mainstay for all magic builds.

6Wisdom: Wei - Skyborn Force

Greater Physical Damage

Increases your damage during Skyborn Might.

Momentum: Killing an enemy increases your damage. Effect is lost upon taking damage.

While yes, I used a magic build for most of my time in the game, I still needed to deal physical damage to opponents. After all, not everything can be solved by magic.

For this, I turned to the Skyborn Force Benediction, which increases your physical damage each time you get Skyborn Might. I rank this one higher than the magic one because it is more useful in a general build, and doesn’t require you to specialize in using magic.

Again, this is a powerful Benediction that can work well in almost any build tokeep the madness at bay.

5Memory: Sheng - Obliteration Might

Backstabs Matter

Obliterate attacks increase your damage for a time and grant Skyborn Might.

If you want to enhance your damage even more, consider combining one of the Benedictions above with the Obliteration Might Benediction, and then thank me later.

This Benediction increases your attack power and grants you Skyborn Might each time you perform an Obliterate attack.

10 Best Soulslike Genre Hybrids You Need To Play

Why just play a Souls game when you could play a soulslike with a little something extra?

Let’s break it down: You get a damage buff when you get an Obliterate attack, and the Skyborn Might received from it also grants you a damage buff if you use either the Skyborn Force or Skyborn Magic Benedictions.

Either way you slice it, this combo seems like a winner to me.

4Memory: Sheng - Skyborn Rejuvenation

Leeching Life

Gaining Skyborn Might endows your attacks with life leech for a very short moment.

Skyborn Plume: After gaining Skyborn Might, the power of your next attack is increased.

Do you want another combo that is great to bring into battle? Of course, you do. That’s where the Skyborn Rejuvenation Benediction comes in.

While you can’t combine it with the Obliteration Might Benediction, Skyborn Force and Skyborn Magic are both game.

This Benediction endows your attacks with life leech for a short time after gaining Skyborn Might. Combine this with a damage increase, and you will be getting even more health back. It’s a great combination that works wonders.

3Wisdom: Wei - Combo Force

Just Keep Swinging

Consecutive attacks increase your damage.

Impale: Greatly increases the power of backstabs.

Speaking of more damage increases, the Combo Force Benediction is perfect if you are able to pull off combos, and it goes great on a spear or longsword for additional Skyborn Might.

This Benediction is simple. All it does is give you a damage buff for consecutively attacking. Hitting over and over again will keep increasing your damage, and combining it with another damage increase and some weapon skills, you have a recipe for success.

I used this on my one-handed sword for a while and found myself coming back to it time and time again because the heavy attack is a constant stab, which is a great way to trigger the effect.

2Oath: Bu - Skyborn Ward

Damage Protection

Skyborn Might reduces damage taken for a time.

As much as I want to say that I beat every boss without getting hit like I didagainst the North General, that simply isn’t true. This is why I always make sure to carry around a good defensive Benediction.

Since I was getting consistent Skyborn Might, I decided to use the Skyborn Ward Benediction. This Benediction reduces your damage for a time whenever you get Skyborn Might, which is perfect when fighting bosses.

I typically equipped this if I knew I would be fighting a boss, and it was always a lifesaver.

1Oath: Shi - Blood Ward

Your Blood Shields You

Taking damage reduces the damage you take for a time.

Break: Increases your damage dealt and Poise Break inflicted.

As I said before, I am not perfect, and I will definitely get hit… Multiple times. What is better than reducing your damage when you get Skyborn Might? Well, reducing your damage whenever you get hit seems ideal.

If you are stuck on a boss that can hit you over and over again, I recommend using the Blood Ward Benediction. Its effect reduces the damage you take each time you get hit, allowing you to tank more hits.

Of course, this doesn’t mean you should run in without armor, but if you combine it with high-strength armor, you’ll feel like a walking fortress.
